Multiple RHS Gold Medal Winner 

Bridget Gillespie has been a Botanical Illustrator for over 23 years, and has been drawing for as long as she can remember.
Originally trained as a graphic designer, A request to paint a friend's wedding bouquet led her to botanical specialism.

In 2002, 2008, 2017 & 2018 she was awarded Gold Medals by the RHS and Best Painting in Show for Beetroot Life Cycle in 2017.
Bridget has paintings in the permanent collections at the RHS, London and the Hunt Institute, Pittsburgh, USA, as well as many private collections. Her work features in The Northern Pomona, Apples for Cool Climates, (Pomona Publications, York, 2007) and RHS Botanical Illustration, the Gold Medal Winners, (Charlotte Brooks, ACC Art Books, 2019)

Bridget tutors across North Yorkshire and has demonstrated watercolour and composition techniques at the RHS, London and at International Diploma Level courses at Edinburgh Botanical Gardens. She lectures in the History of Botanical Illustration.
